White Wolf Cafe & Quickie Outfit Hack

I can't say no to a good brunch invite! (Especially one from the hubby)
Three seconds after he mentioned mimosas I was already
dialing for reservations.
It's not every day
that I can force him into a cutesy breakfast cafe filled with
endless chandeliers - so when he gave me an inch, I ran the mile without
hesitation.

White Wolf Cafe is one of the most chic brunch restaurants that
you will find in Orlando.
My favorite aspect of White Wolf is the miss-matched chandeliers covering
the entire ceiling.

I have decided I need this pic for my bathroom!
We started with champagne,
a splash of cranberry,
and some good conversation.

I ordered Egg's Benedict with pan seared pork belly ( I CANNOT
STAY AWAY FROM THIS STUFF), and Ricky
ordered the regular Egg's Benny.

No filter here ladies and gents! Real deal!

Everything was delicious!
After finishing up our meal, we did a little window shopping up
 and down the streets.
We before we headed back to the car
we checked out this really cool furniture store that doubles
as a bar at night! Check it out!

**Quickie outfit post:
Want to know about my dress?
Well really, it is just another outfit hack!
The grey dress was too adorable to pass up, but a little short - so I paired it with a
cute pleated pink skirt to add some length! I do this to a lot
of my dresses to make them appear longer, and to give more depth to the
outfit! Expect an Outfit Hack post on this topic soon!

Over the Hill at 26

Monday is possibly the worst day to have a birthday - especially when you have
a big girl job.

Not only is Monday a sucky day for a birthday, but 26 is like the most
annoying/useless birthday. So really the two deserved each other.

Thankfully I have a husband and friends who take over
the planning of sucky days for me.

The day began with work :D
Thankfully I work with some pretty awesome people
who understand my love of Giraffes and the color yellow.

When I arrived at work I was showered with lavish yellow, giraffey gifts.

My friends know me well...
After work I drove home, got fancy, and Ricky drove
us to Flemings. Ricky even paid for valet - SHMANCY!

The hostess led us to a cute little table that
was decorated for my special occasion.

Even though it was a Monday and I had work the next morning, I decided
to drink the night away - it was my birthday for goodness sakes.
I started the evening off with a French 75 and told the
server to keep them coming - you only turn 26 once!

I vowed that 26 would be a new and different year, so I started off
the year by ordering an appetizer completely out of
my comfort zone - the Pan Crisp Pork Belly.

Made with creamy goat cheese grits and
dark cherry and sweet onion chutney
Even though the pork was a little fatty, I really enjoyed this dish.
I may not order it again at Flemings, but I am
glad I tried it and I would totally try it again somewhere else.

Ricky stayed in his comfort zone and ordered the french onion soup - which of course
was fantastic.

For my entree I ordered the Small Plate of the Certified Angus Beef Hangar
Steak.
I will order this EVERY time I go back to Flemings.

It was small but filling, and it came with a tasty slaw side.

Ricky and I ordered a side of onion rings to share.
These onion rings came straight from heaven themselves.
They where the perfect balance between crispy and soft, the
breading was to die for, and the dip was mouth watering.
I would highly suggest trying these if you go to
Flemings, but I warn you, it will ruin all other
onion rings for you...

Ricky ordered the 12 oz Filet for dinner and it was awesome, even though
the plate decor was lacking.

Don't judge this book by its cover!

For desert we wanted to try something a little different.
Flemings is known for its
Lava Cake that you have to reserve ahead of time (which
we have tried before)
but this time we wanted to try the desert with the
melted chocolate, the toasted marshmallow, and the
crispy graham cracker.

Dassss Right! We ordered the deconstructed Smores (which are no longer
on the menu).

I was feeling so adventurous that I even told the server to bring
out a good wine to pair this desert with.

He brought out a delectable white ice wine that paired beautifully
with the desert.

After devouring the desert, the server brought the check along with
a $25 giftcard and a homemade box of chocolates.

Dress - Francesca's , Shoes & Purse - Prada

After dinner we headed home to call it a night....
It was a Monday ya know!

Thankfully my birthday did not end there! That weekend
I visited Tampa with a few friends :)

Time for Tea!

Saturday, around two, Stephanie and I headed to Mount Dora for some good ole fashioned
British tea and crumpets.

We had heard good things about a tea room called Windsor Rose and decided to give
it a shot.

We ended up in a cute little town on the water filled with shops, restaurants,
and tea houses.

When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a lovely lady in white apron and given the choice of a scenic window seat or a seat by the queen.
It was a hard choice, but we chose the window seat.

Once seated, we were able to look over the selection of teas and pastries.

I decided on the Marlborough - Tea for One and Stephanie had the
English Cream Tea which came with a scone.

I had the Rose Tea - which was fantastic!

I loved the cake, the pastry, and most of the sandwiches. Next time I think
I will order the Queen Mary Tea for One.

Stephanie and I had never tried clotted cream before, so
we were very excited to see it came with the
scone!

Once we had finished our tea, the owner showed us around, explained,
the artwork on the wall, let Stephanie pick out a new hat, and
took as many pictures of us as we wanted!

After bidding farewell, we set out to explore a little more of the
town before heading home.

Shakshouka (The Egg and I)

So I found this amazing recipe for eggs. I loved it so much that I have cooked it 4 times this week!

Even the hubby (who can be slightly picky) loved it!

 Ingredients:
4 pieces of bacon
2 ½ tbsp olive oil
4 eggs
1 red or green bell pepper, sliced
1 whole garlic, minced
1 can tomato puree
1/8 tsp chili powder
1 tbsp parsley
2 tsp Moroccan spice mix
Salt
Pepper

Moroccan Spice Mix (this shiz is good on EVERYTHING)
5 tsp nutmeg
5 tsp cumin
5 tsp coriander
2 ½ tsp allspice
2 ½ tsp ginger
1 ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
1 ¼ tsp cinnamon

Process:
1. Add 1/2 tablespoon olive oil to a fry pan on medium high heat , add bacon and cook until browned and crispy. Set aside on a plate covered with paper towel to drain the fat.

2. Heat another fry pan (large) on medium heat and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil and saute the onion, garlic and capsicum with a sprinkle of sea salt for 3-4 minutes or until the onion and capsicum start to soften.

3. Add the bacon, tomatoes, Moroccan spices and chilli flakes, stir and cover with a lid and cook on low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. Make four wells in the mixture with a spoon and crack an egg into each well and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
5. Cover again and cook on low heat until the egg whites are cooked, but the egg yolks are gooey.

6. To serve, sprinkle with some fresh parsley and dukkah (optional)

Mummy Dearest, may I please go to the Science Center?

A few Saturdays ago a friend invited me to join her at the Orlando Science Center for Science Night Live.

The main reason for going was to hear Dr. Heather Gill-Frerking speak about the Mummies of the World Exhibition.

But mummies weren’t the only reason we were excited for a night in the science center!
We were also drawn in by the 12 drinks for $10 punch-card and the 21 and up sign.

Outfit for the evening
The science center was our play ground, with no kids in sight!

We traveled all six floors, playing with toys, looking through microscopes, taking pictures, looking at planets through telescopes, gazing at laser light shows, and drinking all the beer and wine the bar stands would give us.

Pink Floyd Laser Show
When the clock struck 10, it was time to file into the auditorium to hear the stories of mummies from Europe, Egypt, and South America.

It was fascinating, and the pictures were interesting, but sadly Heather did not bring any real life mummies with her.

As soon as it had begun, it was finished, so we sauntered out into the night and headed home.

Apparently the science center has a different event every month. If you are in town, you should check it out! I know I will!

P.S. I have so many more pictures and videos that I never post, but if you want to see them you should check me out on Snapchat!
