2016 Shopping Lessons Learned

2016 was a year of trying new things, learning what I do and don't like, and what is
worth the money and what isn't.
The lists could go on and on but I am going to just talk about 5 things that I bought in 2016
that were worth it and 5 things I bought in 2016h that I think you should skip or save your money.

Worth It

1. Valentino Rockstuds - These shoes are sooooo worth it. They are beautiful, comfortable,
and the patent does not scratch easily (durable). These are probably my most comfortable pair of heels. I have worn them all over the place without any pain. Also, these shoes are not going out of style any time soon. They have been in high demand for years, and continue to be going strong. I even tried to find a pair used, and they not much cheaper. So these babies hold their value!

2. HeelHos - These babies are life savers - and they are so cheap! They are inserts for
your heels and they make any shoe manageable to walk in!

3. Balenciaga bag - My husband bought me this bag as an "I'm sorry" present when he left me home alone in a hurricane. I had wanted one of these for forever, but was so afraid of anything lambskin. This bag is amazing and has become one of my favorite bags. I love the look - the distressed lambskin makes it more durable, and I feel like I don't have to be as careful with it. It also gives it this laid back edge that I love. I don't always want to look hoity toity. I also love how much this bag carries. I normally don't carry big bags, but I love the size/style of this one, and it is nice to be able to fit more than a wallet into my bag!

4. Morphe brushes - These brushes are cheap and effective. Check out my latests post about these brushes. Or check out my youtube channel to see these babies in action!

5. Yeti Cup - I have heard about Yeti cups for years but never jumped on the bandwagon - and really it wasn't me who jumped on this bandwagon, it was my husband. He decided he was going to buy us Yeti cups earlier this year and I was skeptical. But LAWD - this cup is amazing! It keeps ice in my cup all day long! Or - if I'm feeling hot coffee it keeps it hot all day long! The cup we bought holds
enough liquid to last me all day long, andddddd it isn't to big to fit in my car cup holder! I truly suggest checking these out! But beware - apparently the number one reason for car break ins is Yeti Cups. #randomfact

Save Your Money

the most beautiful  pair of shoes I own. They are legit artwork - but art is not fun for
the feet. These are also, perhaps, the most uncomfortable shoe I have ever owned - and therefore are not worth the money at all. I can barely walk out of the house in these. BUT I do end up wearing these a couple times a week to work. HOW, you ask? The heelhos saved the day. Using the heelhos in these shoes makes them manageable - and for that, I am thankful.

2. Tieks - I am a longtime lover of ballet flats and bought a pair of these because I had heard great reviews. They were adorable when I got them and were super comfy the first day I wore them, but after that - it was like they grew half a size. Now they continually slip off my feet. Also, I'm not sure if its because they are now too big on me, but the front and back of each shoe is scuffed and the leather is starting to rip. I haven't even had these shoes 4 months and they are starting to look ratty - and I only wear them once every few weeks because, really, they are too big on me. SAVE YO MONEY.

3. Dom Perignon - I am a lover of champagne, and this champagne was good - just not as good as I thought it would be. I'll stick to Veuve Clicquot. You can check out my review of Dom here.

4. Living Proof Dry Shampoo - I love all things Living Proof. I am obsessed with their Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 styling treatment and their Perfect Hair Day Nightcap Overnight Profector. What I will not ever buy again is the Living Proof Dry Shampoo. It is $22 for a bottle and in all honesty, I've seen better results from Batiste - (which I get at Marshalls for like $6). I just didn't think Living Proof worked as well. I guess they can't win them all.

5. Lululemon - Yes, Lululemon is well made shiz - BUT Zella is well made too - and it is half the price. I truly don't see the point in buying Lulu unless your job is to work out. My job is to sit in a cube and write... I'd rather spend my monies on work clothes in all honesty. So I buy Zella; it's well made (the leggings hold my chunk in) and it looks cute too!

Let me know your shopping lessons learned from 2016! I am always so curious to hear what other people think!
